Myrtle Beach's newest miniature golf course, for the 2007 season, should be open by late spring or early summer. Located on the site of the former Fun World Amusement Park golf, the old 54-hole course is being converted into a new dinosaur-themed 36-hole course. 27 holes from the old course are being improved, and nine new holes are being added. This new course takes up the northern-most 2/3 or so of the old course, and a restaurant is being built beside the Food Lion parking lot. This course was designed by Tom Merrell, who has designed many other courses in Myrtle Beach and other areas, including Prof. Hacker's Lost Treasure Golf, and Jurassic Golf. Other partners in this course are Chris Bethea, and Jim Sidwell, the same group of partners who ran the Fun World course. (Sun News, Jan. 27, 2007). Under construction, pictures taken March 31, 2007:
