Over the past several years, forward thinking city officials, various city, county and state arts and cultural organizations, as well as arts advocates, residents of and visitors to this area, have recognized a need for a local venue for the performing and visual arts.

The City purchased the old 1000 seat Rivoli cinema theater which is centrally located in downtown  Myrtle Beach. Tthe independent Rivoli Theatre Group was formed by the city of Myrtle Beach , chartered by the State and serious attention was turned to formulating a strategy for timely completion.
